Ayden's 1st Day of Pre-School

For those of you reading this blog that have children older than 3 1/2 years old, you know exactly how I felt today. For those of you with children younger, call me when this day comes, I will help to comfort you. The FIRST DAY OF PRESCHOOL!!!!

My first thought today was, "Where did the past 3 1/2 years go?" I knew in my mind that this day was coming, heck we have been registered at our Church since March, but it just seemed like it couldn't be possible. Ayden started Pre-School today at Lord of the Hills Christian Preschool.

When Ayden woke up this morning, he was feeling a little nervous, even though we have been talking about Pre-school for the last few weeks. Ayden definitely wanted to stay home and "play" instead of going to school. (As you can tell from the pictures, he started to come around before we left for school.) I tried to help Ayden understand that he would get to play with his friends, especially Zack (see pic) and learn about new things and that he would end up loving school, but he still wasn't too sure, UNTIL we arrived...
Since the day has arrived, we must carry this out and go with the flow and I must say, Ayden did GREAT!! Mom on the other hand was a little sad and somewhat emotional, however, Ayden made it so easy. All he kept saying once we got to the classroom was, "Mom, can I go play now?" And I was like, "Not until you give mommy and daddy a kiss and hug. We love you. Bye" And he was off without another thought or word to mom and dad.

Picking him up was the best. We all missed him, but Jackson missed him the most (see pic). I was waiting in line to sign him out and all the kids had to wait next to their cubbies. He was just standing there SMILING SO BIG and when he saw me, he waved and got so excited. It made all those sad feelings of sending your oldest off to school just disappear.
His teacher, Ms. Sheri said that he did really good today.

After school was over for the day, we decided to celebrate by going Out to Lunch at his favorite restaurant, Chili's. Grandpa Randy was here for this BIG day too. Here are some more pics to show off the day.......

Grandpa took some time off from his job search to go to Denver and visit with Ayden, Jackson and family. I am having a great time. We went to a Rockies game, the Aquarium, Zoo, and Children's museum.
Yesterday was Ayden's first day at pre-school. He had a great time, and can't wait to go back tomorrow. I am so glad I was here to share the day with him, and have lunch with him afterwards!
