Butterfly Pavillion

What a great place to visit if you live in Denver or you just happen to be visiting.

Such Beautiful Creatures. I am just wondering what the Yellow ones are doing? Yep, did you catch that there are 2 of them there? Maybe they are just catching up.......

Ok, so I am attempting to catch up on some posts. We had a family outing to the Butterfly Pavillion. The boys were enthralled with all the butterflies, spiders, insects, and play area, etc. I think the pictures tell the story. Enjoy!!

Ayden holding "Rosie the Trantula". He would not hold her the first time we went here with Grammie Karen, who bought us a pass to the Butterfly Pavillion and Ayden would not stop talking about the next time we went (today), that he was going to be brave and hold "Rosie". He did so well.
Jackson loved the HoneyComb Beehive that he could crawl in and out of as well as on top of.

Ayden crawled up the spider web. Can you see how proud of himself that he was?

Ayden's 1st Day of Pre-School

For those of you reading this blog that have children older than 3 1/2 years old, you know exactly how I felt today. For those of you with children younger, call me when this day comes, I will help to comfort you. The FIRST DAY OF PRESCHOOL!!!!

My first thought today was, "Where did the past 3 1/2 years go?" I knew in my mind that this day was coming, heck we have been registered at our Church since March, but it just seemed like it couldn't be possible. Ayden started Pre-School today at Lord of the Hills Christian Preschool.

When Ayden woke up this morning, he was feeling a little nervous, even though we have been talking about Pre-school for the last few weeks. Ayden definitely wanted to stay home and "play" instead of going to school. (As you can tell from the pictures, he started to come around before we left for school.) I tried to help Ayden understand that he would get to play with his friends, especially Zack (see pic) and learn about new things and that he would end up loving school, but he still wasn't too sure, UNTIL we arrived...
Since the day has arrived, we must carry this out and go with the flow and I must say, Ayden did GREAT!! Mom on the other hand was a little sad and somewhat emotional, however, Ayden made it so easy. All he kept saying once we got to the classroom was, "Mom, can I go play now?" And I was like, "Not until you give mommy and daddy a kiss and hug. We love you. Bye" And he was off without another thought or word to mom and dad.

Picking him up was the best. We all missed him, but Jackson missed him the most (see pic). I was waiting in line to sign him out and all the kids had to wait next to their cubbies. He was just standing there SMILING SO BIG and when he saw me, he waved and got so excited. It made all those sad feelings of sending your oldest off to school just disappear.
His teacher, Ms. Sheri said that he did really good today.

After school was over for the day, we decided to celebrate by going Out to Lunch at his favorite restaurant, Chili's. Grandpa Randy was here for this BIG day too. Here are some more pics to show off the day.......

Our Friends, The Routh Family, stop by for a Visit

Our college friend, Jon Routh and his wife Lisa, daughter Wylie and new addition, son Cade Aaron Routh, born July 7th stopped by to visit while they were in town visiting family and friends. Of course, Ayden loves babies and kept asking, "Can I hold Cade?" He did really well with a little help.
Wylie and Ayden played really well together. We wished they lived closer to us so we could have more "play dates." They had a ton of fun as you can see from the smiles.

The next picture is of Ayden, Wylie and Jackson ALL sitting in Cade's baby carrier (you can barely even see the car seat or baby carrier). They were trying to play "dog pile" while posing for pictures.
We were so happy to have this precious time with the Routh family. We can't wait to see both the kids grow up, we remember when Wylie was Cade's age. Hope to see you ALL again real soon....... Love the Shaw's

Trying to get the Hang of this....

Hello All-

As you can tell, we are trying to create a family blog so that everyone can stay up-to-date on what it is that we do here in Colorado. I have decided that we need many more pictures, the 4 of us together, and we need to figure out how to make them much smaller. We plan on working a little bit each day to get this up and running. Keep checking back for more updates..........

Love Kerry, Michelle, Ayden, Jackson and the dogs

A Baseball Day with the Rockies

Today we spent the afternoon at Coors Field to watch the Rockies play the Padres. We were happy to be watching the game with Grandma Karen (Grammy) and our friends, Joseph, baby Grace, John, and Nicole. We had such a great time at the game. Here are some pictures to show off the stadium and our friends and family. Enjoy, and oh yeah, for the baseball fans, the Rockies ended up losing this game but we still had FUN!!!

Okay, so for those of you who have been to a major league baseball game, you might have encountered the PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS (say that 3 times fast). Well we did, and it was such a blast. They took the picture, published it to their website, my mom copied them and published to Paint and proceeded to send to me via email. The pictures are FANTASTIC...thanks mom for sending them along.
Ayden being a cheese goofball. Here is Ayden posing for this picture..."CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" (verbatim)
The serious, "I am going to PLAY PROFESSIONAL baseball" pose. Ayden just finished T-ball and he had such a great time. Hopefully, I will be able to post some pics from that time frame as well (later on, as I am trying to get this blog caught up).
Jackson (16 months) and Mommy (not disclosing age) enjoying the day at Coors Field. Jackson already loves to throw the ball and swing the bat, or anything else he can get his hands on. He does really good at tossing the ball up into the air and swinging his bat....and yes, making contact. The smile on his face when this occurs is just priceless.
On our walk(Grammy had to take pictures instead of taking the bus) to the stadium, we stopped for Grammy to pose with the boys.

Here are a bunch more photos.........
Ayden, Grammy, Joseph taking cover from a light rain storm passing overhead.
And as we were leaving the stadium, Jackson crashed. Boy did he have fun.
